In April 2003, then-President/CEO Michael Smith completed this journey by selling his majority stock ownership to the employees of Gemini. Smith was instrumental in creating the unique “Culture of Ownership” that exists today. 

Today, Gemini stock is 100% employee-owned. Our team believes in the power of unity, collaboration and shared success.

How Our ESOP Works:
 We All Succeed Together

  1. Eligibility: After time and hours of work eligibility requirements are met, employees are automatically enrolled in the program.
  2. Allocation of Shares: Each year, Gemini deposits a discretionary injection share based on stock value into every employee’s account. This is at no cost to the employee, other than their time.
  3. Vesting: Employees gradually vest in their ESOP accounts of time, becoming fully vested after a set number of years.
  4. Distribution: Upon retirement or other qualifying events, employees can begin receiving distributions from their ESOP accounts, essentially selling their shares back to the company, providing employees with a valuable source of income.
